About Marie Baumer
Henrike Marie Bäumer (born 7 May 1969 in Düsseldorf) is a German stage and film actress.
Biography
Marie Bäumer was born in the Rhineland as the daughter of an architect and an occupational therapist. She grew up in Hamburg and attended the Gymnasium Blankenese and then the Waldorf School in Nienstedten, which she left after the 11th grade. [1]
Her acting training began in 1992 at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri in Verscio (Ticino) and at Studio 033 in Hamburg. From 1994 to 1996 she studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, among others with Jutta Hoffmann. During this time, she made her breakthrough with Detlev Buck's film comedy Männerpension. For her role in Oskar Roehler's Der alte Affe Angst, Bäumer was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize in 2002 and the German Film Critics' Prize in 2003.
In addition to her film work, Bäumer also acted in stage plays. In 1995, for example, she appeared under the direction of Dieter Löbsch in August von Kotzebue's drama Menschenhass und Reue at the Theater im Zimmer in Hamburg, and in 1996 she played in a production by Falk Richter in the play Silikon at the Theater im Kampnagel. In 2007 she followed the call of the Salzburg Festival and played the Paramour in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's play Jedermann.
In January 2011, Bäumer directed the production of the play Abschied at the Hamburg Kammerspiele for the first time. She has repeatedly participated in the Dresden Music Festival at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, for example in 2013 at a Wagner evening; [2] In 2016, she told the story of the heyday of bel canto in Italy in the world premiere of The Swan of Catania. She regularly gives acting courses and workshops, for example at the School of Acting in Hamburg and at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. [4][5][6] In 2016, she was festival director and jury director of a drone film festival. [7] In 2018, Bäumer won the German Film Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Romy Schneider in Emily Atef's biopic 3 Days in Quiberon. In addition to her work in acting, she offers courses on self-discovery and personal development, especially with horses.[8]
Personal life
With the actor Nicki von Tempelhoff, from whom she separated in July 2009, Bäumer has a son. She lives in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue[9] near Avignon, France.
